At the last meeting we agreed to do the Kokopelli/Cruise Moab prerun April 19-21. We will try to run it as close as possible to the Cruise Moab official run and stay in the same camps to see if everything "fits". We will meet at the Shell station near the Welcome Center in Fruita on Friday at 10:00 AM and leave NLT 10:30. This will be last chance for gas and supplies. Please have provisions enough for four days (JIC) and 5-10 extra gallons of fuel. There are a few tough sections so please be properly prepared. See the thread on San Rafael Swell trip for requirements and suggestions. Same will apply here.

EDIT/CHANGE: meeting point for late arrivals is Robert's Bottoms, close to, but not AT Dewey Bridge. See page 3 for details. For any that can't make it Friday AM we can meet up in Robert's Bottoms Friday evening or Saturday AM. More info will be posted soon as we get the itinerary from the CM Committee.

Here's a couple of shots from Top of the World and Rose Garden Hill. Also check out the Koko trip report from last October.

Cool! Thanks Ace for setting this up. Should be a great run for thos who can't make CM. I'll most likely be up Friday night or Saturday morning.

Matt-
If you are still interested in running TOTW and RGH the week or two before let me know. I'm probably interested.

Assuming the Pig survives LA, Joshua Tree and the Mohave, we have this one on the calendar. Ace...sent you a PM re: a possible guest.

We have to have first priorty slots for club members, if they don't fill the quota then sure. I will set the max at 10 rigs which I believe is the limit set by BLM before a permit is required.

Bumping this back to the top to gauge interest. So far it looks like Jonathan, Doug, Garrett, Jim, a guest and myself. I expected more would want to run this trail.

EDIT: looks like Garrett and Jim's guest have had to drop out.

You forgot me, I have the whole week off.

I thought you told me just yesterday you had the prior week off. But be good if you can make it.

This trip is open to all with club members having first priority. Limited to 10 rigs total. See earlier post about vehicle prep.

Bumpin to the top!

Well its a bummer but I'm out for this trip. My family decided to buy tickets to come visit without asking if I had plans or conferring with me.

Sorry to hear you can't make it. I was looking forward to seeing an Xterra on the trail.

Ace...looks like there's room for my guest. OK to proceed with the invite, even if it's a Jeep? His fingerprints are all over my 55...couldn't have done it without him.

Looks like the pig survived your trip. As far as I know there is several spots still available, I don't care if he drives a Jeep.

Sure, looks like plenty of room.

It would be great if everyone could bring a couple of bundles of firewood, more if you have room. The weather is looking pretty good for next Thursday thru Sunday though not as warm as I hoped for; 40ish and 60ish, so we'll need the wood.

I need a head count on who's planning to meet up in Fruita at 10 AM on Friday. I will wait until 10:30 then head for Rabbit Valley.

Last October I had a signal most of the trail when up on the high spots, but sure I won't at Roberts Bottoms. So if your calling us Friday late to ask about Saturdays rendezvous just leave a message. My guess at this time is we will meet at that camp rather than backtrack to Dewey Bridge.

Thanks,
Ace

Radio users I will monitor CB 34 and HAM 146.460.

There will be a bright moon (~half) that weekend and clear, if not overly warm, nights. I just love the look of the desert and mountains in the moonlight.

Because we were assigned a group campsite on Onion Creek for our second night out during Cruise Moab we will be camping elsewhere on the trail. We have no reservations for the group site and those regular sites are usually full by the time we'd arrive. I don't like camping there anyway.

Bonnie and I will be in Fruita at 10a Friday. Firewood is ready to go. No guest...moving into a new home got in the way. Need to Plasti-Coat the gutter mounts on the roof rack so I can use it. I assume meals are on our own?

No group meals planned but if we throw something together that's cool.
