Who's going to be out at the race?
I'm heading out there sometime between Sat 2/2 and Mon 2/3 and coming home Sat 2/9. I'm camping with the Poly Goats (Cal Poly's Off Road club) and there will be probably be 10 of us there all week and topping out around 30 for the actual race Friday. Just like last year, we will be wheeling trails that aren't involved in the race all week and then finding a good spot to watch some of the qualifying and both the Every Man Challenge and Big Race along with some of us racing, pitting and filming for Heavy Metal Concepts. Also, at least a couple people plan on doing a lot of shock tuning runs in the desert (this guy especially). I'm working the Hellwig booth so I'll probably go on one trail first thing in the morning and then work the booth the rest of the day. Anyone who comes is more than welcome to go on some runs with us or mob around in the desert an get some shock help. We always camp the same spot (see pic below, we're the group who can't figure out how to make a circle) or swing by the Hellwig booth and I can direct you to wherever they are.
I've been the past 3 years and it is a very impressive event, well worth burning some vacation days
Here's the race schedule
Here's a video of the Poly Goats trip out there over New Years to get you pumped up, most of the same rigs will be there
