Does anybody have, or know anyone that has one of these? I have a York for my 40, but I haven't installed it yet. I will get to it as soon as I can. I figure for the price, with the compressor, it's not a bad deal at all. The compressor would be a back up for the York if the rig isn't running. As much crap as I have heard said about Smittybuilt winches, I have also heard just as many cats say theirs works fine. I am trying to split the hairs between how much I will use the winch on this rig, and if the Smitty will cover what I need. I have a RC9 Warn for my buggy, but I don't wanna put it on the cruiser.

Here it is, what says CVC??

looks good dont know anything about reliabilty, what is the compressors duties? it may have a tough time with your 40" tyres

Oh, I don't have 40's. It's got 35's now, and probably 37's soon. It will be for airing up, and will be split for ARB's. Like I said, it will be a nice back-up for the York. The fact that it comes with a tanks is really cool to me. And I am sure that it being a 10K winch will do just fine for my cruiser. Winch compressor with a tank for around 700 bucks is pretty good I think.

my buddy is runing it on his rig and he likes it. but your going to like the york a whole lot better.

I love the power that Yorks deliver, but my only issue with them is just like PTO's, if the motor isn't running, your not making any $$....except what you have in the tank maybe. It should be a good back up for the York.

They say the 8000 and 9000 smittybuilts are not that bad and you can pick them up for less that $300 on pirate. I have a harbor freight and it works for my needs.

I know a few guys that have the 8K's on their rigs and they seem to do fine. My other buddy has a Champion from HF and it's been a beast going on 3 years of hard use!

So I called my buddy at Summit about the winches. Looks like I can pick up the 10K with the compressor and the normal 8K for the rear for around 800 bucks with the bro deal. Then after I move my fuel cell, I can mount the 8K underneath all tucked away.

800 bro bucks is pretty hard to pass up.

Why do you need the rear winch? Are you linked and need it to suck up?:D

Naw, but I have seen cats use a suck up winch with leafs before. It works the same, just not AS effective. I have also witnessed a SOA 40 on 37s slide into a garage with room to spare because of a suck up winch.

I figure, for the price, why not grab an 8K and slap it in the back. I have been in situations before where you think....man it's gonna suck to turn around to winch this guy out, or if I had a rear winch, I could grab that tree behind me because there is NONE in front.

Shucks!!!!

Just ordered a Bulldog 10K with the extreme winch kit from DesertRat.com. Winch was 489, kit was 199. I have list parts and pieces to my old winch kit, so I figured I'd grab a fresh one. Comes with a recovery strap too, and for the price, I decided on it, vice a Warn kit. Order is in processing, and hopefully will be here soon!
