I got out my old Rustler. Charged up a battery that has been sitting for a long time. Turned on the remote, the speed control, everything clicked on. Try to drive it and all I get is gears grinding together. I think I blew up the differential back in the day and then never fixed it.

I put so much time and money (Sounds like a LC) into this thing when I was younger. Need to get it working again!

You guys think its the diff? When I pick up the rear end the wheels will spin pretty fast under full throttle but on the ground with the weight of the car on it it just makes noise.

Check your pinion to spur gear mesh. But if its not that, it in the tranny but dont be scared everything in there is cheap and easy to replace!

Hey thanks for the reply man.

Turns out my dog bone axles were loose. There are set screws on the output shafts and they were completely loose. I have it working now and I've fixed a couple stubborn things I did back in the day.

Now I'm looking into a new battery and charger. These old 3700 NiMH are worn out. GENS ACE has an affordable 2S Lipo. 5000 mah. Charger I'm looking at is the Thunder AC6. Both seem like good products just need to order them haha.

I have a set of those same tires on my elec Rustler. Damn Kline, yer gonna make me pull all my s*** out now! Thinking of trying to sell off some of my FOURTEEN fricken cars/ trucks to support the Cruiser addiction!
The latest and greatest, an HPI 5T I bought at RCX two years ago. Custom painted Woodster body by yours truly!

Hello, old friend... Well it looks like I took the steering servo out at some point, for reasons unknown right now, it's all coming back... Below it sits my Nitro Rustler.
Installed a cheapie hot motor, Dean's plugs, couple sets of Proline race tires, and one OLD SKOOL Novak ESC! I had a Tamiya Blackfoot when I was around 7 years old (I'm 32 now) and this ESC was in it. Still works! Pops claimed to have had $1,000 into the Blackfoot. Tried to get into racing with the Rustler, but was way too intimidated by the almost pro drivers at the local track, so I just went on practice days
