We've got a kenmore front loader that is about two years old. Last night during a laundry cycle the front gasket apparently came loose. When I opened the door, the metal retaing ring on the front off the gasket fell out. The gasket itself was partially pulled back into the tub. I reshaped the gasket, and put the front retainer back on. Everything looked fine, but now it leaks. The gasket is'nt totally sealed against the drum now, and so far I have'nt been able to reseal it. Any thoughts????

Which model? Is it a whirlpool duet rebranded? Seal gaskets don't like the be misshaped. A few days might bring it back but most likely a new gasket will be needed. What part faild that made it come loose? You may need that too.

It's an HE 2t. The gasket is intact, with no holes that I can find. The seal was/is about 80% intact, and I'm going to give it a few days. I can't find anything that caused this........unless it was shoved in by a very wild 7 year old assistant prior to starting the load!

We have a HE3t and it is over 5 years old. I thought my model replaced yours. Is it possible yours was built that long ago? Then a new gasket may be due. The duet manual is floating the internet.
