I was out wheeling yesterday in my 60 series and had to cross a couple pretty big puddles. When I got back I just popped the hood to have a look at everything to make sure everything was kosher. I noticed that there was a ton of water that had made it into the engine compartment. I know this will and has ruined one altenator for me and does the electrical system no good too. Not to mention ingesting water into the engine isn't so good either. Just to note I don't hit puddles full speed or anything either usually I take it pretty slow.
So my idea is to try and keep water from splashing up from the bottom of the engine compartment using something like rubber mats or maybe just sheet metal.
My question is how have you guys dealt with this? Anyone have any good ideas or solutions that they have found to work. Pictures would be even better.
Thanks
(Oh and if anyone is wondering why this is posted in this section, I just thought that you guys would be the ones trying to keep water out of the engine compartment and not just throwing a snorkel on.)
