Hi. My last big journey (Canning Stock Route, Simpson Desert, Cape York etc) in Australia I had a 2011 LC76 Workmate V8 wagon with aftermarket steel wheels x 6 - brilliant. But I've upgraded now to a 2024 LC76 wagon V8 LX model. It comes with fancy stuff like stock Mag Wheels. Should I be swapping these Mag Wheels for similar aftermarket steel wheels for similar tough terrain?? Thankyou in advance.

Hi
Well, some people would claim that a steel wheel is much more repairable in a real remote situation: You can hammer it back to shape. You can't do that with a MAG wheel..
But how likely that does really happen?
Would they hold up in those scenarios? Probably (only). Steelies hold up for sure.
I'd rather consider the cost: Those MAGs are expensive, and in your scenarios they certainty will get beaten up..
Cheers Ralf
