I know this may a long shot, but I was wondering if anybody had the instructions on installing their standard length tire carrier and license plate bracket? I ordered this carrier at the end of July and it finally came in today with no instructions.

The only way to get a hold of them is a cell phone number on their website that they answer every now and then. I've also texted the number to try to get a response (it's blue so it's an iPhone). And I've also emailed them from the address that sent my confirmation.

I'd like to get this thing installed so I can have my trunk back and get the rubber tire smell out of my truck.

Never mind. Nick got back with me with an email.

I have the instructions now if anybody is interested.

Hey, I didn't get any instructions with my carrier... So you mind sending me them? I texted nick but no response yet.

Never got the instructions either so my 2.5 JW tire carrier is just collecting dust. Reached out to JW but no luck yet, kindly share the directions with me as well @kody472. Thanks in advance.

Here's what I have. Hopefully this helps.

Much Thanks @kody472 - not sure why JW is not including directions with these kits but thanks for sharing. Appreciate it!

No problem. Not sure why either. Every time I talked to Nick, they sounded super busy, but he's a super nice guy. They also look like they are expanding a lot from their Instagram. I ordered my tire carrier at the end of July and it came in at the beginning of October.

Best of luck to them. They are in the market at the right time. I know the 120s have been popular out west for a while, but they are seriously taking off here in the south now.

For those of you that installed yourself, is a rivet tool completely necessary for the nut inserts, or can I just kind of hammer them in?

Absolutely need it.

I second what kody said. Get the tool, do it right. If you hammer them in they have a high chance of spinning in place, effectively not doing a whole lot of anything. Properly compressed they clamp the sheet metal and you can tighten your bolts appropriately.

alternatively you can try a diy rivnut tool. Can Google what you need to make one. It’s a pain in the ass method and you can asymmetrically compress the rivnut if not careful.

Agreed. Do it right the first time. The majority of the weight will sit on that brace so you want to be able to really tighten it without it spinning in place.

I practiced the DIY route and that's a no, especially where you will be installing it. You just can't get enough muscle behind it to smash the rivet into place. I was lucky that one of my buddies bought a rivnut tool on a whim and had it in his garage.

Harbor Freight has them here for cheap.
