I guess a year and a half is long enough to be the creepy guy in the corner watching everyone else play. I had a jeep for 14 years and now I needed more than two seats. I guess i finally saw the light and got myself a toyota. And who knew there was such a capable and comfortable suv out there. I got myself a 96 lx450 that only had 130k on it when she came home. I haven't been able to do much to it yet, it does have lockers and I put an arb on it not long after I got it along with an 8k winch which is the only thing left from my jeep and some 285/75. I was content until a few weeks ago leaving Brookwood with my second child I saw LSULX's lx450 in the parking deck with his lift and 315/70 and realized just how small mine really was. I thought I was done with 37"+ tires but it has hit me again and now I'm trying to justify a lift to myself and convince the wife that I need one. I know everyone loves pics so I will try and get some up soon. Also can someone tell me where or how to get to the skyway trails. I am looking for some easier trails to brake my wife in on. She never went with me when I had my jeep and i'm kind of glad cause I don't think level 4 and 5 are what someone new to the sport would or should want to start on. Sorry i went a little long I just started my third big glass of crown black and I'm ready to talk to the wall and bored while I'm waiting for the 11:30 feeding then it is to the sack.

Thanks for reading my ramblings,
Brad

Google "skyline talladega" and the first listing will give you a map. Welcome aboard. Tried to do skyline today but kids interfered. Have heard that skyline is tight so is you care about your paint take something to do some pruning.

Best way to start with Skyway is to order a map from the National Forest Service. It covers the entire Talladega National Forest and is more than helpful in planning a trip and using while there.Route options are many. On the last drive picked up the road just west of Cheaha near Oxford and drove to just south of Sylacauga. Can't beat the views and passed one other truck the whole time.

Saw one thing that was very curious. Some private property had signs telling all government and law enforcement agencies to keep out except for "requested" emergency medical vehicles and persons. Signs were professionally made and sure makes you want to ask a few questions. I wonder who owns that land.

Thanks for the welcome, I was thinking of skyline but is skyway motorway in skyway wma? I have heard that skyway is one of the best public lands for turkey hunting. You just need to be prepared to hike a lot.

Welcome!

Skyway is a forest road in the Talladega national forest that runs a ridge line for many miles. Skyline is a WMA in the northern part of the state.

Wow! I wish my wife would make me a sammich around midnight every night.........:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Welcome to the madness.

And it's easier when the kitchen door has locks on them!

or take their shoes and leave tacks in front of the exits.....

No shoes is a given she now has the baby on her hip in the kitchen. And I have no doors going to the kitchen so I put in an invisible fence and she knows to back up on the second beep

Thank God she will never read this

Here are the pictures that I promised. At some point I will get off my lazy butt and build the sliders that will replace the factory steps. I would go ahead and take them off but the :princess: uses them and at 5 foot and 230 pounds I can't really help her get in.
