Hello,
I just moved to the Wausau area a month ago, and will have my Land Cruiser here come first part of May. I'm originally from West Michigan, and took a job after college down in southern Indiana. I rolled with the Hoosier Cruisers for a while, until my job transferred me up here to the land of beer, brats, and cheese. I like fishing, bird hunting, and the outdoors in general so I'm back at home here. Any case, I'm bringing my FJ40 over from winter storage back home, and will be wanting to meet up and hit some trails soon. I look forward to meeting some of you, and I'll be going on the UP Overland Expedition in August.

Welcome to WI. I post rides here every now and again. Also, check out Home. WOHVA is one of our State Associations.

This group really needs to get out more. Woody is really the only one who wheels regularly and he rarely locks his junk in while in our state.

Welcome to the Wausau area. I moved here from Green Bay a little over three years ago. Lots of good fishing and a few 40's in the area. Look forward to meeting you. Randy cell 715-965-4224

Welcome to Wi, we do have a few 40's around here but could always use another one. Give me a call sometime I am only about a half hour from Wausau, Tim 715-570-5715

Randy, is that you at AWG? I see a red 40 parked in the lot, I work at the Sonoco Phoenix plant.

Now that it's beginning to warm up we'll all have to have a trail ride or get together sometime.

The red 40 is mine. My dailey driver is down so oh darn ,I have to drive the cruiser.

We should have a get together any Ideas on were? I live @ 5 miles east of town we could have a gathering in the new shop. Or we could pick a central gathering for the guys west of Wausau.

Let me know were I'm in either way! Randy 715-965-4224

Northwoods looks like it could be fun, we'll have to pick a weekend. Thanks for the suggestion, Brian.

Randy, you said that you have a new shop? What does that mean? I like the sounds of that. I'm in the Weston area, about a mile east of Bullshooters. You'd be just up County Road X from me then.

Next weekend I'll be bringing my 40 over on the Lake Express ferry and stopping in Appleton to pick up a couple kayaks from Outdoor Outlet. After that I'll be good to go.

I look forward to meeting you guys and breaking/fixing/testing stuff out.

Brian

perfect...you'll be thru Appleton, and I'll be in Moab - good timing :p

Haha, you must have been listening to the Hoosier Cruiser guys, they still don't believe that I own a Land Cruiser! The one chance I get to prove I own one to someone who wheels with them is off in some other part of the country

It's all good, I'm sure we'll get a chance to meet up sometime, I'll be driving it all over the place now that I have it again!:steer:

Tim, it was nice meeting you and helping you out with installing the new clutch and putting the engine & transmission assembly together. I guess we'll see if we did it right when you fire it up later!

Brian

Nice meeting you yesterday Brian, and thanks for the help.

When you and Randy are getting together let me know, I will drive up with the 83.

Brian I'm just north of N and between X and J. I looked at Overlands Sight and picked June 25-27 as a good weekend since it falls on my birthday. I placed a call to the Green Bay cruiser guys to see how many can make it. Its a lot of fun close to our back yard. So any one that can make it would be great to see you up there.

Randy that sounds good. I'll be there. When you're done making deliveries with the truck gimme a call this week and we can meet up, I've been eyeballing your cruiser from the road something fierce and want to see it up close. 231-578-5536

if you weren't all such slackers, you'd be at Cruise Moab....

like i am right now ;)

Thanks Woody now I know what I is ..................rub it in rub it in

Did you call Jeremy at Northwoods Overland? He needs to have like 10 trucks minnimum to open it up for the weekend. I will try to make it that weekend if you guys are going.

I think I have a BSA campout that weekend, but I may be able to sneak away for a bit. I signed on as an Assistant Scoutmaster, so between that, Land Cruisers, and the fiancee my schedule is filling up!!

Yes, Brian, we are slackers, not everyone gets to be as cool as you:lol:

Randy, your truck is sweet! Nice meeting you today, I didn't get a chance to make it out to your place as the troop meeting ran longer than expected. If I don't go fishing tomorrow I'll probably go and check it out. This plasma cutter has me intrigued, I have a heater box lever arm from Tim that I'm going to try and duplicate for my 40. I want a defroster that doesn't need bungee cord to keep it on!

UP Overland, and Wisconsin Lakeside 'dispersed camping'

Hey Brian. I took my son to UP Overland last year, both parts and it was very fun. One of the good parts was tent camping by the Lake (Superior) shore.
Unfortunately I can't make it this year.
If you like that kind of 4-wheeling/camping, maybe we can get together and stare at Wisconsin's NP and State Park Motor Vehicle use Maps, and figure out a good set of routes to take, with some dispersed camping.
I'd really like to find either public or private land on the shore of lake Michigan, and take a route that requires a 'Cruiser to get there! :)
Later,
kenton (Lorax)
