i actually own a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee since it was brand spanking new. it has the same engine as the wrangler, 4.0 L V6. i have not had any problems with it except for having warped rotors at 17K miles, which is common for that model. otherwise, it has been your normal maintenance and wear. it has 72K on it and has been pretty reliable thus far. i had a 96 jeep cherokee classic or sport or whatever, the boxy model, it was a reliable rig until i got rid of it at about 50K miles. now i did have a 92 chevy blaxer...LEMON!
i think it just depends on the luck of the draw sometimes....i'll probably get cruxified for this, but i am sure there are some toyota landcruiser lemons out there somewhere...NAH, probably not!
