I have a hard time not driving the 45....it's a great truck and drives really well. It's really setup just right....for how I use it.

This is going to be the next one in the shop, after the light resto on the 45 pickup....talk about character.

....and all this time I thought alcohol was the first step to recovery...... oh well.

Actually the first step was selling the landrovers and getting on the landcruiser band wagon.

The 45 wagons have a cool look to them, better than the 55s There is a restored one that gos around Australia to the 4x4 shows, it looks to have been sanded to bare metal and sprayed with clear looks super tough.

We'll be sanding the green primer off the remainder of my truck, then I'll top coat it. I love the patina on it. Interior will be nice and fresh though. Great trucks....cool history too. I have a build thread in the 45 section. Not much going on with it though. It's all about the 79.

Painted the fire wall master adapter and cutout area.

Fun stuff today....had to invest in a JDM Premium Horn. REALLY loud. wow. My logo on the front trans cooler just to keep it real. Looks like a truck threw up a harness in my shop.....sorting out all the connectors so we can start removing stuff and figure out a way to cram it all in that 79.

You got a part number on those horns?

I could use a favor. Putting a 79 series bed on my 45 and cant remember what the bolts look like that go in this mount. They went in at an angle and the head goes in the slot. Otherwise ill weld some keyway on an existing bolt. But a picture of the proper bolt or a measurement on the head would save me. Build looks awesome.

Easy....I will get you the part number in the AM. I have 3 of them in their bags....I was able to order them thru the dealer. They look like a "T"....I think half of them came with my bed, had to order the missing ones.

Pic would be awesome if u have a bolt out. Thank you very much.

I'll post a pic first thing.

Here you go.....about 2-2.25" long.

Thank you. Lots of lurkers are confused right about now and saying to themselves what a weird bolt..

It's pretty cool how they made it....from what I can tell, that rounded head allows it to go in at an angle and then drop down. Then it gets turned 90 degrees to hold it in and stop it from spinning....

It looks like the hammer that Tim Robbins had in Shankshaw.

Since I'm running a 6 lug wheel for a spare, the OEM 5 lug holder wasn't going to fit so we came up with this to hold the rear wheel on. Does anyone with a 79 know if that rear portion of the hold down(threaded part) is supposed to be able to accept a lock of some sorts? Like a locking lug nut I'm thinking. It's a 14x1.50mm thread on it....should be the same as a lug bolt on the 79s(since mine is an FZJ80, it's a different size...12mm). Need to figure that one out. I'd probably still run a cable though. Would sure hate for an expensive Toyo and a cheap steel wheel to grow legs and walk away.....

Yes, it had some sort of lock on it. I will have to jump over and look at it. I recall we did not have key, so we had to take the whole thing off. May be a pic....

Nope, no answers on the pics. Still a cool picture. :)

About time Penny made the thread anyway.....
