If it is the road I am thinking of, with the dove fields that you pass.... I tried to go that way last year and there was a random locked gate several miles in. There was no signage that I remember telling me about it either. I am not sure how you would know if the gate was open or closed until you make the trek. The road was good though.

Here is what the DNR site says. Looks like we are in the 3/20-5/10 window for seasonal access, but which gates and roads that includes is not specified. You could also "contact the Jocassee Field Office at 864-868-0281 or email HallM@dnr.sc.gov for road management updates or temporary roads closures during inclement weather conditions."

The property is open during daylight hours year-round. Some roads are open on a seasonal basis.

Regular Game Zone 1 seasons apply for hunting.

Seasonal access for motorized vehicles is September 15 - January 15 and March 20 - May 10 only.

All-terrain-vehicles (ATVs) may be used Mon. - Fri during that time period. If an ATV is used on Saturday, all riders must have a hunting license and a WMA permit. The Horsepasture Road (to Jumping-Off-Rock) and Camp Adger Road are open year-round for licensed vehicles only. ATVs are prohibited on any road from January 16 to March 19 and May 11 to September 14

Has anybody done this? We will be camping at Devil's Fork this weekend and might check it out.

Look forward to hearing a report on how it went...should be a beautiful weekend! FYI, new member @Krondor may want to see your 40 as he is in process of restoring his and deciding which color to go with and the color of yours is a strong contender!

So Tommy, how was the weekend??
