LA4X4 President Alan Gaspard joined us at our last meeting and made a point to accommodate us on the date since they usually do their rides on Sunday and our meeting is on Sunday. He invited us to attend LA4X4's club ride and here are the details.

Saturday July 26th

Meeting at:
Fred's Travel Center
15169 US Hwy 61
St. Francisville, LA 70775

@ Tunica property in St. Francisville

Saturday, July 26th will be the date for the event and this is our official July club ride for the month. Please take note that it is Saturday and not Sunday...We are trying to give the Sunday church goers a chance to wheel with us as wheel as some other clubs.

All LA4x4 Club rules apply.http://la4x4.org/WebPages/Policy.html. Anyone who does not comply will be asked to leave the property.

All LA4x4 members ride free(proof of paid membership required) and all our visitors ride for $20.00 per vehicle.

We will meet at Fred's Travel Center on Hwy 61 near the state line at 8:00 am. http://www.fredstravelcenters.com/freds-food-mart-03.html... Please take note we are trying a new meeting spot so please don't show up at the old Chevron meeting spot.

Waivers and all fees will be collected before we depart to Tunica. We will depart at 8:45 from the travel center and head on Hwy 61 to Tunica. No trailers are allowed on the Tunica property as of now so you will have to unload your rig at the truck stop and drive it from there. If your rig is not street legal, you will be on your own but we haven't had any issues before.

Front and rear tow points MUST be present on your vehicle or we cannot allow to ride with us...Bring a lunch and plenty to drink since we will be out on the property for lunch

You going Larry L?

You going Larry L?

I was planning on it and was really looking forward to the outing. The wife was going to join me so I was going to make a reservation yesterday at one of the plantations in the area for Saturday night to top the day off with something she would enjoy but before I did I checked the weather on several outlets and it doesn't look good. I'd say the chances that we still go are very slim right now but I'll keep you posted if I change my tune last minute. Alan is going to check with a local near the property on Thursday when the rain comes in. I'm not interested in playing in the mud I still have to crawl under my rig a few more times before summer is over.

I'm sorry its not going to workout I was looking forward to socializing not only with our folks but with Alan and the LA4X4 folks to keep good communication open between both our clubs we can both benefit from it. A big part of my meeting agenda and format comes from the meetings I attended in 06/07 with LA4X4 in Baton Rouge and even joined their club for two years in trying to get a foundation for our club. We have good history with them and would like to get back to trying to attend some mutual events with them over the year if we can fit it in :)

This event was pushed back to the next Saturday the 26th because of the weather, we will discuss at Sunday's meeting because our day at the range was scheduled for that day as well. The weather may help in the decision because the forecast I just looked at is calling for 70% chance of thunderstorms next weekend as well.
