Jerry Can restoration questions. (1 Viewer)

So I was just given two vintage US Military Jerry Cans. One is circa 1950s and the other 1970s. Im wanting to strip them and repaint them and get them cleaned up. But i cant get the damned lids unscrewed. I have put some penerating oil dow. In them in hopes it eill loosen things up a bit. Anyone have any suggestions or maybe a media blaster i can borrow to strip these bad boys?

I tried to restore some mayo cans with the POR-15 kit. 50/50 results.

You will have to probably put some tank liner in them (like for gas tanks) because I'd bet they leak. I've thrown a bunch of these away because of that. You get the lids off?
