hello fellas, just curious  but was wondering if anyone has ever used yj springs on there 40. saw an ad for new leaf packs from rubicon express for soa rigs but they were for a yj ?...anyone :hhmm::beer:

Yj springs are common on an fj40. I think that bustanutly is running them with 40" tires. I'm not sure if they are stock or not, could be 2" lift springs. I've seen it lots.

you guys know if a soa cruiser was outfitted with a anti-wrap bar, the need for custom leaf packs for soa rigs probably wouldn't be needed, am i correct thanx....

An anti wrap bar is a good thing. I never had one on my cruiser when it was just soa w/cruiser springs in rear. I did have some axle wrap but wasn't my biggest problem, never too serious. I would guess that alot depends on how much power and the gearing your running. To build a custom pack to stop the axle wrap, it would be too hard. Soft super flexible springs are the way to go, then an anti wrap bar is golden. I've seen extra long spring perches like 6" long, that will help axle wrap. In any matter your way better off with one than without!

Either way a wrap bar is a GREAT idea.
A buddy of mine broke his wrap bar and didnt realize it...The VERY NEXT ledge he snapped his pinion shaft on the Rubicon last summer.

I used heep springs on the rear of my junk.. they lack the military wrap, so if you bend the main leaf, you're hosed.

Friend had Alcan make up a set for his Jeep thing.. V8 powered, decent crawl, 1-tons and 38's.. it flexed pretty well and the anti-wrap setup they built in really did an admirable job of controlling wrap. Any length, any pin offset, military wrap, etc... If I was to build a custom rig on leaves again, it's what I'd do. Too many compromises when adapting other springs.
