I have a 1999 JDM 100 series that has a speed warning beep above 100km/h. I suspect the sound is coming from the combination meter as mentioned in other threads for 80 series and with the combination meter disconnected, the reverse beep which is the same sound as the over speed sound doesn't work. I have taken the combination meter out but cannot find what i need to remove from the combination meter for it to stop beeping. This is highly annoying when driving on the highway. Does anyone know the fix?

I am in the same boat as you. I have a 1998 VXL and it is quite annoying. I'll see if I can find some manual/diagrams and find it. Someone in Japan has to be on this forum that can help (hopefully).

For mine I found the source of the beeping (if memory serves me correct its the big round black thing in the top left of that pic that has CB-25AP on it) and I essentially just carefully butchered it off the circuit board. The base still remained and it still makes a barely noticeable chime now
