Come check out the Big Round Valley Sink Holes with us. The sink Holes are located South of the Virgin River, West of the Black Rock exit. They are 80-100 feet across and 60' deep! This will be a shorter Run. We are meeting at the bloomington WalMart Jan. 22 at 10:00 AM. Hope to see you there! info on the sink holes can be see here: Sinkholes in Washington County - Utah Geological Survey
We had a lot of fun on this short loop. The trail was a bit muddy in the ravine since much of the trail sees little sun this time of year. The mud added to the fun as we zig zagged our way down. Crossing the muddy creak bed proved to be challanging at times. The still active main sink hole is quite impressive measuring over 100 Ft. across and 60 Ft. deep. You can see and hear miniature avalanches every few minutes. The jaged walls were 15 Ft. vertical before sloping to the bottom. You would have a hard time getting out if you felll in.We were also surprized to see the third sink hole full of water from the recent flooding of the Virgin River. We had lunch at the sink holes then continued up the trail. Soon trail became more steep with some rocky parts as we climbed out of the virgin river gorge. The views on top of pine valley mountain and Utah hill were amazing. Those of you who didnt make it, We hope that you can join us on the next run.
Look's like it was a lot of fun, I hope to be cruising again real soon. I am on the hunt a for a 80 serries cruiser that is not to beat under the $4000 mark.
