For those of you who don't know me I'm Hugh with Safari Ltd in GJ.

I thought I would post that the next meeting will be at Safari Ltd on January 19 at 6pm. The Pres is out of town so I took it upon myself to let everyone know;).

I would like to do a snow run this winter so get some idas together and bring them to the meeting.

BCC Jan 19, 2010 meeting

Hey, Hugh, good to see/hear you on 'mud. I've been back over in the 'Springs for about a month now, but do plan on being in GJ in January. I have the 19th marked on my calender and am planning on being there for your BCC meeting. My FJ40 is still over there so it will be ready to have the oil thinned out when I get back.

We, ColodadoLandCruisers, had a good time at the start of the month assisting Pike NF with their annual Christmas Tree Cutting run. We provide assistance to the public in resolving "stuck" conditions. And wouldn't you know it, we were blessed with lots of snow and some really cold weather. Chuck was out with his FJ60, 37's all chained up, as were most of the members. The public ventures cautiously into the snow and we blaze fearlessly into it - but only venture onto the side roads that have tire tracks on them. (We don't go down side roads that havn't been traveled so the public won't go in and get stuck) Anyway, it was a fun time - check out the coloradolandcruisers forum here on mud.

I look forward to seeing you Jan 19th. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hi to Kelly, and give Pinto an extra bone for the holdays.

I'm glad to hear you had some fun! It's always good to hear that you 'had ' to chain up-makes for a good time!

I'll look foreword to seeing you in Jan.

As always have a great holiday and Christmas!

Hey Hugh,

I am brand new to GJ and looking to get meet some other FJers to wheel with. I will definitely try to make this as long as I am not working. I am in oilfield services so my schedule is unpredictable, but I am hopeful I will be there.

Snow pics...

Hugh,

I like the pictures you posted - the snow looks good, although it does look dry. Bad news is I won't make it back over to GJ as I had planned. Had some work come up and since $$ grease the skids or buy fuel, ect, I'll be over a little later. I hope it will be the following week. Plan a run, and hope I can make it over for it. The FJ40 is sitting over there covered with snow still, but I'll bet it will fire right up, and be ready to go!

I hope the snow holds up. maybe we'll get some more to add to the dry crust underneath!

Darryl-too bad you won't be able to make it. But living in grease I know how important $$ is!

January Meeting Trip Ideas

Word is out that BCC is looking for thoughts on trip plans in 2010. Here are a few suggestions:

Weekend trip to Uncompadre Plateau.
Weekend trip to Sand Dunes near Walden.
Cruise Moab (a given).
FJ Summit for the FJ owners, July 21-25.
All-4-Fun Week in Silverton July 30 to Aug 5.

The last event is sponsored by Mile-High Jeep club but is open to all 4X4's. It will be my 3rd A4F (their 44th) and it's a great run.

I expect to be back in the area around April 5 and look forward to some good runs with BCC in 2010.

Hugh, good snow shots. Obviously I won't be able to join you in the snow this year. Right now I am playing at Panama City Beach. But I did get in a good snow run last October up on the Mesa.

Awesome pictures!! Thanks to Hugh for his recon photos. I am glad he didn't get stuck it could have turned bad for Pinto :0 Check out the other post under snow run for the date, time and info for the upcoming run..... Yippeeeeeeee

Hate to miss the Snow Run

Hugh,

I'm afraid I can't make the snow run because my daughter has a high school swim meet on the same day here in Glenwood Springs. I hate to miss getting together with you all, but I love to watch her compete.

I signed up to go to Cruise Moab, and still want to join the BC Cruisers. I guess I can do that the next time I can make a meeting, or I have the FJ40 in your shop....

Did you get the PM I sent you a week or so ago??

Thanks,
Steve Carcaterra

I never got a PM from you??? I sent you another one and included my email. I don't know why I never got your first one. Please resend and/or email me the message if it's not too much trouble. Hope you and all have fun tomorrow am.

Alan, sounds rough down there. Too bad you can't make it. We have been getting a bunch of snow in the hills so it should be good times.

Let us know when you're back.
