Anyone have any ideas or need a few to watch you work?

As usual, we can always meet at my house, drink beer, and mull over working.

I have a new fan clutch that should go in before it warms up.
Nothing big but if we are looking for somthing to do.

I've got a growing pile of parts to replace too, or we could bend and weld something. Rear bumper, fender bars, cargo barriers...

Still need to install my caster bushings. I have been noticing some vibration since the lift. Could the caster be my problem?

I would still like to meet everyone. Still need to take my running boards off; however, my better half is only on board if I have some replacement (sliders) and since my house got struck by lightning new years day and blew up 1 HVAC, my main TV and a microwave so I am a ways off. Still interested in hanging out and drinking beer.

Depends on the type of vibes... but, most likely your front drive shaft.

very well could be, but theoretically it shouldn't without adjusting the caster and changing the pinion angle. It could also be slightly out of alignment with the lift, the tires could be out of balance, wheel bearings could be loose...

If we can figure out a meeting time we can check all of that. Although, if we are going to measure the toe we need to do it earlier in the night before everyone "forgets" how to read a tape measure. We tried to set mine a couple of meetings ago and it was entertaining.

Something about the 97's.... I've never seen or heard of a 97 that didn't get lifted and immediately have front DS issues... even without castor done... just a thought, it could be 15 different things causing it, but i'd lube them u-joints in the DS to begin with.

edit: DUDE, you got a CDL switch... crawl under and pull the front DS and lock the CDL and drive at all speeds to see if the vibes goes away. That's exactly how we diagnosed a friends u-joints once on his 97 after we "J" lifted it...

I think they are just too smooth to begin with, so little vibes become very noticeable.

Sorry to hear about all that, does your homeowners insurance not cover the HVAC?

if/when you get ready for sliders let me know, I would like to make a set for a 100 to see how it compares to an 80.

Holy m*%^$*$@% s@%% bhammaping! those sliders are awesome! Would love to talk to you about doing some for my ride. PM me and we can talk. I ended up getting my HVAC guy here and fixed the unit fairly cheaply so just leaves all the land line phones, my main TV and a microwave - not enough to make the deductible and the loss of the yearly discount for not making a claim worthwhile. That being said I am very interested in the sliders.
