Hi Everyone – I meant to email you this reminder last Friday, but time keeps flying by. The January OHV Work Day will be on Saturday, January 28th starting at 9 am at the Uwharrie Hunt Camp. We will be meeting there and heading out to the OHV Trails. The projects for this 1st work day for 2023 will be rebuilding the ATV ramp at Flatwoods Trailhead and repairing the ATV ramps at Art Lilley and Dutch John Trail and if possible fixing some of the guiderail fencing at Flatwoods and Art Lilley too.
The other project will be finishing up the guardrail installation in a couple sections on Daniel Trail and Rocky Mt Loop Trail that we did not complete last year because we ran out of posts. I hope we’re all done by 2:30 that day. If you have a vehicle that can haul guardrail posts and drag guardrails please bring it. Please bring your lunch and water, wear long pants and long sleeves, closed-toed shoes / work boots, work gloves, sunglasses / glasses, and bring any of the normal tools we use for installing guardrails and fixing the wooding fencing. We’ll have the nuts, bolts, washers, rails, posts, gravel and wooden timbers for all of the projects.
The Lakeview Trail work will hopefully be completed by our February work day and for that work day we should be able to begin installing signs, reflectors, etc. along the trail at the trailheads, etc.
