For Jack Welch, the long fight to keep snowmobiling access to Yellowstone National Park was a public and a personal battle. As a founding member of both the Colorado Snowmobile Association and the land-access groupBlueRibbonCoalition,Welch has been actively involved in grass roots snowmobiling for 45 years. He's also been a regular winter visitor to Yellowstone, and couldn't stand on the sidelines while extreme environmental groups tried to lock out snowmobiles. Now, 17 years after the battle began, there is a new peace over winter access to the nation's oldest national park, which includes slightly expanded access.
