I started experiencing a strange intermittent problem with my 2016 LC that I wanted to see if anyone else here may have a solution to.

On occasion touching the door handle will unlock all doors but the driver's (front left) door and touching the part of the door handle that locks the doors will lock all but the driver's side. If I physically insert the key the door will lock and unlock. If I hit the lock and unlock buttons on the keyfob it will lock and unlock. This only seems to happen when attempting to lock or unlock doors by touching the door handle.

The vehicle battery is brand new (it was on it's way out and I changed it thinking that might have something to do with it). The keyfob batteries are relatively new (changed in the past year or so).

Look up custom functions in the index of your user manual. There are various ways to program what the response of the door sensor handles on lock or do not unlock. I do not believe any of them specifically call for what you are experiencing… Or the exclusion of the drivers door… But I would try changing the custom function related to the door sensors… And then switch it back to whatever configuration you prefer… and see if that clears it up by skrt of clearing the brain cells, so to speak.

Thanks I will give that a try and report back.

Do you know where your other fob is? If you leave the other fob in the car on accident, it will not let you lock the doors by touch.

The other fob is in the house. I initially thought it was only an issue with my fob, but it seems to do it with both my fob and my wife's.

I went into the customization menu and played with the settings a bit to see if that helps. It was working fine right after I did that, but given that the issue is intermittent, I will keep an eye on it to see if it happens again.

Mine will do that too if I keep trying attempt to unlock with either the fob or door handle.

I'm due for a 50k service so I'll have them check what's up and let you know. I will also disconnect battery and replace fob battery just to see if that helps.

Did you ever figure yours out? I’m going in next Monday to have it checked. I’m now unable to lock my drivers door. I think it’s actuator as it sticks a bit when trying to open after pressing key fob. Odd as it’s a 2yr old vehicle.

No longer under warranty. My 2016 has 75k miles. Now that we have a big and roomy vehicle, we find ourselves taking more road trips.

It’s so odd, mine will work 10x and then not work 20x.

I’m at 40k miles so warranty won’t cover. I’ve been meaning to drop it off can’t find the time to leave it for a whole day or more.

I ordered an aisin actuator on Amazon for $100. It was an easy job to replace and the new aisin one was an exact match to the OEM one. Works great now.

Can you please post a link to the part?

Thanks for the updates. Just ordered the part.

I’m guessing install is pretty straightforward - did you disconnect battery?
