So I'm flying into Tulsa this Sunday to buy an 80. I'll be by myself. Should I be as worried of getting robbed or is living in Memphis getting the better of me. Just curious on yalls thoughts.

I was thinking about the gun box idea. @FJ60Cam had a good idea of trying to see if local police stations had a transaction area. My idea was to do the transaction at the airport drop off area. Lots of people very public.

Get someone to ride along, pack all your 9mm's, and just drive if you have reservations. See if the seller would meet you somewhere along the way...Ft Smith is only 2 hours from Tulsa.

Seriously, though, I'd wouldn't worry too much about it, but I generally keep my head buried in the sand.

Hahaha I already bought my plane tickets. I guess we will see come Sunday.

Take a gun and basic tools if possible (and depending on what you KNOW about the truck). Check the spare before you hit the road. But that's just me.

Good call on the tools. Didn't even think about that.

Haha Tulsa seems to have dropped off of the top 25 in the past year. St. Louis has taken the top spot. Memphis still at #4

Every time I've flown into Tulsa it's been a ghost town at the airport.

Good Luck!

I've never done a long distance pick up. But a couple of friends of mine flew out to California to buy a early 70s if I recall BMW 2002 (granted pretty different situation). They packed tools, shipped common spare parts prone to go bad, etc., bought the car, went over it in the parking lot, replaced a few parts, and then drove it back to AR. Granted, they were both mechanics and the car was almost 40 years old at the time. Since it was Cali, no guns were taken, but they also knew the guy through mutual friends.

Well this should be interesting. I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes on Sunday hahaha. I plan on bringing some basic tools for sure.
