Went to a guy's house last night to look at a cold saw he had for sale. Too big for my purposes so I passed on it. But he does A LOT of metal work and one of the machines he had was a Piranha ironworker. First time I'd seen one and I gotta say I was impressed by what it could do for punching holes, shearing, and notching. For instance, punching a hole 1 1/8 dia. in a 1/2" mild steel plate is pretty impressive, not to mention shearing it. I'd love to have one just to demonstrate what it can do. Too bad that's the only use I'd have for it! :)

Yea, they are awesome. No sparks, smoke and hardly any noise.

We had one in welding class and used it to make coupons to weld test.

You could shear the coupon and then put in there after welding it and break the weld to test for certs.

Amazing how fast you can work with one of those.

I miss the stomp shear from class as well.

Nice gear but too hardcore for home use.
