Intruder alert

this morning I had a box pop up on the sreen saying that Norton Internet Security had detected and blocked an intrusion attempt.

The details were.

Time 8 03 am

Date 30/09/05

Intrusion ICC profile tagdata overflow

Intruder forum Ih8mud.com (204.10.140.65) (http(80))

them at 8 10am the mud site stopped working.

Any ideas and are the 2 things connected

Looks like the server sent a malformed http packet, nothing really to worry about IMO

Woody can hardly weld, let alone hack a PC with overflow attacks..

most likely the result of an image hot-linked from another place on the internet...

what thread were you in, or can't you admit that in public?

Same thing happened again tonight. About half an hour ago. Site stopped working kept getting the page not availabe message. I was in the chit chat section. i went to other sites with no problem just couldn't get back into Mud

it has to be the result of a specific image on the site, linked from another webpage...nothing on the MUD server can cause that....

I think there may have been other network-related issues yesterday, neither I in Phoenix on multiple AT&T OC-48s nor my home DSL nor my brother in Durango were able to hit ih8mud. I believe there may have been a network problem in some POP somewhere yesterday.

I have had this happen the last couple of times a noticed it was happeing when there was a post from Peebles24 . so I went to the members page and when I clicked on his name the alert came up but not his avatar and thats the same thing I saw in the posts would stop downloading everything after trying to pull down his avatar so maybe this will help some .

I'm glad I'm not the only one this happened to. I was concerned about it.
