Interior LED lamps?

Obviously the DTRL mod is a better potential fuel saver. I think the LP lamp is lit 100% of the time.

Tech Dog - the difference may not be measurable but with $3.75 / gal gas could still be cost effective !

Here's a pic of my step/courtesy lights, 12 LEDs on 1 bulb, what a BIG difference over stock:

NMuzj100 - I'm using LEDs for my license plate lights too, I'll get pics of that once it gets dark.

1loudLX - I've been using PIAA Super Teras for my parking lamps for a while now and love them! I recently ordered a set of the Polarg J-51s like you have, and must say they arent as white or bright as the PIAAs. Here's a pic for comparison, the Polarg is on the left, and PIAA is on the right:

A gallon of gas has about 60,000 watt-hours of energy. You can conservatively assume 50% efficiency in the electricity generated.

If an LED saves 3 watts, you have to run it 10,000 hours to save a gallon of gas.

If you drive an average of 40mph, it would take you about 400,000 miles of driving to save that one gallon you got from the lightbulb change.

It's a nice thought, but the math doesn't quite work out.

anthonycds is this the PIAA Lamp replacement? $75 / pr. ebay

Yup! that's it. I've got the 5500K color temperature. PIAA carries 4500K, 5500K, 6500K, and 7500K temperature bulbs. They may carry others but those are the ones I know of.

Are you saying the 100 won't go to 500k? Cruiser Hater! :D

Of course they will, properly maintained. But at 400K miles, you've only saved $3.50 or so. To actually pay for the $25 LED replacement bulb, you're going to have to get just under 3,000,000 miles, and that's just your break even point.

While I'm pretty sure my LC will break 3,000,000 miles, I'm just as sure that YOURS won't.

:flipoff2:

that guide from Sylvania says the door courtesy lights accept 2821, but i cant find those on the superbrightleds.com website, am i missing something?

2821 will fit 194/168 bulbs.
