I am in provo and i want to get out on a local trail here. anyone from utah county area interested in takin the rigs out? or know of any trails open, please let me know.

Thanks!

I lived there for a number of years but only knew of one trail in the "area". It started just before.......crap, can't remember the name of that dam up the canyon. Anyway, you know what I'm talking about. Just before the dam you could break off to the left and a trail wound you up the mountain side all the way to Heber. It closed while I lived there because of all the road construction. That forced me to go find trails up AF canyon.

Wow, just realized my rant doesn't help you at all. Good luck and sorry you are stuck in Provo.

you can still take that trail to i think its called willow springs, did it in the winter last year..no 2 years ago.

I actually think it's called Little Deer Creek - takes off just before Deer Creek Dam to Cascade Springs, and down graded road to Midway/Heber. With the recent storm it's probably under too much snow to be passable. At the very least it will be very muddy.

You may want to head West past Lehi toward 5-mile pass. There's some good trails out that way...namely Rattlesnake is one if you haven't done it.

Little deer creek road is closed..

with the new highway construction and the property access being sold to Nu-Skin/Roneys you have to follow the new fence up and over but it ends and you cannot pass thru. The road is a bitch btw and steep , full of loose rock .
The old road is no More. The tree huggies used to gripe about that area being torn up by 4x4s .. now is got D-9s all over it and the whole place got torn up in the name of progress. The Wasatch Cruisers did a service project there 5 years ago when I was a memeber. Now the area is under 50' of dirt .
You can come down little deer creek for a mile or two from Cascade Springs.. it's a nice drive for a 2wd but it ends at the beginning of the private property.
Go up past Little deer creek a few miles and take the right to wallsburg .. foloow it out to the end and take the left hand fork and enjoy some nice scenery.. should be gooye this weekend with all the snow and rain.

thanks guys, i have heard of all those places, but haven't been or talked to anyone that really knows much about em. 5 mile pass is what i want to try...probably not this weekend though, need to replace some seals in rear axle first

I am pretty new to the forum. Have had my 69 cruiser for about a year now. Anyone in the Utah County area interested in meeting up to compare notes/rides and maybe doing a little cruising?
