If you engine is missing, You will need a mighty big oil separator to fit a whole engine into.

Check with Beno, he will make sure the oil separetor will be compatible with missing engine. He will also know if that part is dicontinued, short supply, or readily available

So I've had a catch can on both the PCV and breather lines for quite a while now...used to get only a few drops in the breather line can, now it is filling up like the PCV line can used to while the PCV line can has slowed down.

W-T-F?

New PCV time? It isn't clogged and the little ball can rattle around inside it.

It's very possible. Mine is still holding up great! I empty it about every other week. I use one of the fancy nice aluminum ones on my cobra mainly because of the way it looks under the hood. Doesn't seem to work any better than the cheap one in the cruiser.

I drain mine when I notice tail pipe smoke after stomping on it, which isn't frequently.

Hi all.

Very new to the landcruiser scene. This is currently how my 1fzfe on gas is setup. I want to run a catch can. Can someone guide me one the best way. And possibly why my current setup is very different to everyone else’s.

Usually these are connected by the red line. Not sure why yours was routed differently.

Also what is the thing in the blue box? Never seen that before.

Yeah don’t understand either why it’s different.

That’s the Gas Mixer. My car is dual fuel. petrol/LPG
I think that's your answer. Did you install the Gas Mixer? Purely speculation, but I'd theorize that running crankcase ventilation into the intake after the "Gas Mixer" somehow screws something up. Again, purely speculation.

Yeah I think so also.

But I still want to run a catch can. So do I just put it inline with the other hose coming from the valve cover. Keep the hose on throttle body blocked?

I was also told to change the cob. But I don’t even know where that is.

I sliced my new factory hose and reused it. Fits nicely.

Parts I used.
Kobalt 1/4" Mini Air Filter p/n221024 (79686-00169) $12.68
2x 3/8 Bard 1/4" MIP Hose Barb Adapter p/n27970 (48643-07449) $2.44 each
2pack #4 hose clamp p/n/62508 (35119-07404) $1.04

Thanks for the information! It does what it needs to do and I installed it after I cleaned out the upper plenum trying to fix the P0401 and P0402 error code. The ERG port was clogged up with carbon deposit and hopefully this will help.

OK, I've had mine sitting in a box for months and haven't gotten around to connecting it. Today it will be done! Thanks for the kick in the arse!

YES, do it.... I had all my stuff packed and ready to go, along with the dog. First place I went to was Lowe's, went inside and purchased needed parts. Came out, let the dog out (I was parked near a hill) he walked around and sniffed things out while I opened the hood and installed right in the parking lot before this drive. Really glad I did. Send a pic when you're done!

Good morning Mud
So reading through all this and my question is why are people putting plastic clear air compressor oil separators when there are real catch cans that are baffled available for automotive application?

Happy New year

We all know there are fancy expensive aluminum catch cans out there, but some people use the air compressor versions simply because they cost less then the anodized aluminum types and function about the same (the plastic does deteriorate). The cheapies are easily replaceable at your neighborhood hardware store. I don't run either so :meh:
