Probable are rebuildable, I'm doubtful that they could be rebuilt properly, living in Australia and all.

If not there (Australia), then where? There's plenty of competent shops in OZ--especially in NSW, VIC, and QLD. During my several visits, I became quite close with some blokes at West End Diesel Services (not far from Sydney).

Try getting help on gray-market diesel stuff here in Houston--now THERE'S a problem.
