Guys, It's been almost exactly a year since I sold my 100 series. Look what i just drove home. 1997 FJ80 40th Anniversary Edition w/ Factory Lockers!

Congrats! I think that's the best color ever put on an 80. What's the plans?

Well, i consider the Cooper's good "starter" tires, but I'll want wider for the next set. Probably 15" TRD PRos or something the like. Then the usual suspects. Sliders, Skid Plates, ARB Front Rear Bumpers with Tire Swing, Jerry Cans, Roof Rack, ETC. I wouldn't mind finding replacemtn Trim Embellishment. The faux wood-grain/tortoise whatever that trim is is faded and nasty looking. I need to lurk a bit more and see what people suggest that i haven't even thought of yet. Maybe a light bar, etc... New steering wheel and one day a rear tray with a fridge and all that jazz. Any suggestions and help is more than welcome. Thanks again and happy to be back!

Nice rig. Sounds like good plan with what you stated above. Can't wait to see the transformation.

That looks awesome. "Welcome back"!

Nice! I like that color as well.

What's it like going from a 100 to an 80?

Even when I got the 100 I always wanted an 80. I didn't know as much as I know about them now so I'm very happy to finally have what I've always wanted. The 100 I had was great but nothing compares to the 80 with lockers imo. Plus the difference from the 97 to 00 is pretty minimal on the inside, but the one thing I liked more about the 100 was it had more leg room. I'm 6' 1" 265 and I had more breathing room in the 100. Also other smalls luxuries like the motorized 3rd row side window vents and stuff but that's not why I wanted a LC so it's not a big deal. I'm Excited to get this guy upgraded and dirty!

How drastic is the difference in power? The 4.7 isn't exactly a powerhouse, so I imagine it isn't as bad as one would first think.

I've thought about getting one or the other as my next vehicle, in case you can't tell. :)

Congratulations Travis. Nice looking truck!

To be honest man i can't really tell a difference in my ever day driving. I can tell you that having rear and front lockers will all but completely make up the difference in any power i may have lost with the swap ;)
