Looks good! I like those wheels
Thanks, I was planning on getting them powder coated but they are growing on me the way they are.

Those are Method wheels, right? I really like the look. Did you have to use spacers to get proper fit and to clear the hubs? I have TRD wheels which I like but could live without the spacers.

They are 17x9 MB wheels with -12et, no spacers needed.

On days where the temperature is 95-110 out I am seeing my coolant temps up to 225 on the scan gauge. In the morning when its only 65 out I will still hit 195 within 15 minutes of driving. The radiator is not leaking and still seems to be the original factory Toyota Rad. I will be sending it out to get cleaned to keep as a back up. Looking at the maintenance records I see the water pump, coolant, thermostat, plugs & wires, 02 sensors were all replaced by the PO about 30k miles ago but in a span of 7 years. So in an effort to resolve the high temps, I am swapping out the radiator with an all Metal CSF, Denso Iridium Plugs, NGK Wires, Ignition cap & rotor, thermostat and water pump, and new Toyota Red coolant to see if I can bring the temps down to normal.

Some before pics before I get at it with the degreaser and power washer.

Also replacing both idler pulleys and all 3 radiator hoses. After seeing the front side of the radiator once it was out of the truck, I am pretty confident that I found my issue with the high temps. The lower half of the complete radiator was filled with dirt to where the fins were barely exposed. I sprayed it with a hose and mud just ran out for a full minute.

After 30 mins of driving in 100 degree weather with AC on the highest I saw was 202. However once I got home the coolant was pulled from the reservoir so I had to refill which most likely means I still have some air in the system. But it looks like I'm already down about 15 degrees. I'm hoping to get in the 190's once all the air is out of the system. I still have to get on the Fwy to test since that is where I have seen the highest temps of 225. Added some heat barriers on the intake pipe and filter housing just to aid a little in the cooling of AIT. Coated the exhaust manifold heat shields with some high temp paint to clean it up a bit.

Grimes all gone so you can now actually see the block and head instead of just black tar.

Looks awesome, throw some water wetter in. Or since your in cali you could run 50water & 50water wetter.
I filled with Toyota Red after flushing it 3 times with distilled water with both heaters on full blast. I run 50/50 water wetter on my Supra since the 90's and it runs great.

Nice work! I just did all the same to my 93. I was impressed when I pulled the CSF from its box. It's beefy! Have you modded your fan clutch? What electric fan is that?

Thanks, it's got a blue modded clutch and flexalite 14" universal fan.

Finally got rid of the front vibration during braking. Installed a new set of Brembo rotors that I had slotted by my local CNC guy. Used Toyota pads off the 100 series to get a little extra bite. Took it out for a quick drive and stomped on it and no more bad vibes.

You've done so much work to this truck. Seriously man, good work. Sub'd. I'm assuming that the door tweeters weren't original. How did you install them and what size are they? Since you have those tweeters, what are the JL speakers? Midrange and woofer combined? I need some audio system advice so if you don't mind, PM me :)

Thanks, the door speakers are part of the JL 6.5" component speaker set. I drilled a small hole on each door to mount them. They are considered as a midrange / woofer speaker and sound great. I would definitely recommend them since they provide a really full rich and crisp sound.

My ongoing quest to drop engine coolant temps was successful today. Removed both cats, muffler, and piping and replaced with a single MagnaFlow high flow cat, OBX Racing Sports muffler and swapped out both O2 sensors. Highest temps so far was 190 but today was slightly cooler in Socal at around 88. Also planning on remodding the blue clutch again since it was last done by the PO years ago and doesn't really roar like it's suppose to. Only reason I even noticed is that we just installed one for a local mudder today on his '97 and what a difference in the amount of air it pushed compared to mine. Here's some before and after pics but still have to throw on some high temp paint to finish it up.

Ok so I finally looked them up (TR650-CSi) and I'm very surprised that you were able to fit those in the doors without needing door speaker grill spacers. The mounting depth of these are 2.44 inches when most other Cruiser woners wouldn't dare to install something with a mounting depth of more than 2". Tell me more
Spacers will be required if you do not plan on opening/cutting the door panel a little. It gets very close to the window regulator but clears it fine.

Been a little while since I have done any other additions to the 80. Just started building an on-board air setup with two Viair pumps I had laying around and added a 5 gallon tank to fill up quickly.

Fab'd up a mount with a bracket to mount under the rear for the 2 pumps.
