I recently picked up a new book that lists dozens of great backroads trips throughout Idaho and plan to spend a week or two exploring some. No firm dates yet but I am looking at the first two weeks of September. One trail that is on my list is the Lolo Trail. If anyone would like to join this "expedition" please post here. Because of permiting and other possible hassles I am going to limit this to 10 rigs including me. This will be a tenting trip with camping on the trail or at campgrounds if convenient. Because most of the trails are relatively easy small off-road trailers would be OK (wish I had one!).

No interest? I expect to be going anyway, but would prefer some company.

wish I could escape Ace...that would be a fun trip :)

take lots of pics, get some folks interested!

Hi All:

Consider the "Magruder Corridor" which goes between Elk City ID, and Darby, MT.

It is 100 or so miles or dirt road going between two Wilderness Areas.

A book was written about living along the Magruder Corridor over a winter: Indian Creek Chronicles by Pete Fromm. An interesting read for those who like the outdoors!

Regards,

Alan

The Magruder Trail is on my list, but I sure don't plan on wintering there .

This trip is wide open as far as time and trails run, so if you want to join me for any part of it please post up, or PM me.

It will be beautilful there in September; no crowds, no bugs, fall colors, comfortable temps.

Crossed into Idaho this afternoon and expect to stop in Missoula for supplies and start the Lolo trail on the 11th. Anyone iterested please email me as time is getting tight and I have limited web access while traveling, especially when I get into the backcountry.
