Way cool. I remember going to the first "short course" events back in the 90's and seeing Ivan Stewart race a truck just like that. I forgot what those races were called though.

I would have loved to have seen him race.

I saw a thread over on rccrawler where a guy put the bedsides on a honcho. So I'm thinking that I need to find either a honcho or wraith, stretch the wheelbase and then put a low turn brushed or a brushless setup in it and set it up as a backyard brawler.

Probably use wraith axles, custom cage and bumpers.

First they have to release the freakin body so I can have something to start with.

Yeah, it looks good. I been following it too!
It's a 1/12th scale and should be out early Nov.
I think it might be a little too small for wraith axles. (cause i was thinking the same thing)
The body will still need to be painted white on the cab and red on the bed.

I think the wraith has a slightly longer wheelbase, a honcho looks about right, but the front bumper will have to be reworked. Here is a link to the thread I found over on rccrawler. In it the huge fender flares make the honcho look crazy narrow.

HPI Mini Trophy Truck body on a Honcho? - RCCrawler.com Bulletin Board

If the pics don't show up, you can click on them to see each, but as you will see in the first one, the body of the trophy is very wide compared to the honcho axles.

Do you know how much wider the wraith is compared to the honcho?

Edit: widths: wraith = 11.6"; honcho = 9"; hpi mini = 9 3/16"
Wheelbases: wraith = 13.5"; honcho = 12.3"; hpi mini = 12 9/32"

So wraith is a little too big, but the honcho looks like it is just asking for one of these, now to convince the wife that I need a wraith and one of these bodies so I can make an educated decision....
