I installed Slee Offroad LX570 sliders, here's how it went

@tbisaacs

Love the way that these turned out. I am not sure if it was mentioned by how much are the 570 sliders running these days? I was on the fence regard LC vs 570 and I think those sliders settle the question.

While I feel the LC badge carries more prestige, the premium they carry on the used market, plus the cost to do suspension work, plus the potential issue of having one side sit a little lower begin to weigh heavily against the LC.

One can find an excellent 570 add sliders, tires, and possibly knock out some known Maintenance issues such as the radiator or starter for less than you can get into a seasoned LC.

All things being equil I would prefer the LC, but considering my use the LX makes so much more sense

They are effectively unavailable. Last year something like 5 sets were made. I started a group buy to pool interest, but we weren't able to get an appt with a fab for a model and fitting.

A bunch of us are on the list to get a set and they are coming but you know how Slee is, nothing moves fast over there. I read somewhere (probably here) that they were beefing up the design of the arms and were going to offer optional skids for the AHC as well. We sit and patiently wait, that's all you can do, but it'll be worth it.

I would love to get on the list for a set of these. How does it work. Do I need to make a deposit?

Wow! I'm thankful I got my sliders last summer. I think I was one of the last to get a set before they ran low. I can tell you the sliders are indeed stout and worth the money. The LED integrated lights are great for illuminating the ground and the step.

@Tex68w I believe you're correct. The Slee team heard all of the uncertainty from the board about the globes being exposed. They started some R&D to find a way that will work some plates under them for protection. They did mention that whatever they did for these new sliders will work with the older ones. We'll see.

How do these compare with the ARB?

Let's hope you're right and that it's sometime in 2019 lol. My invoice is from back in February and I know another guy that was invoiced in September of last year.

Just want to clarify and add some info

Did you and your friend pay and not receive product? As far as I know, we’ve never taken deposits or invoiced customers for product that was not on hand.

We are working on getting the LX570 sliders back into production. We will be test fitting a first article from our supplier next week and hope to hit the go button very soon.

Happy Trails!!

No, the invoice/order was basically used as a wait list from my understanding. It shows as a no-cost backorder invoice with an order number. I am assuming that these will be offered/filled in numerical order when they do become available?!

Awesome news. Looking forward to it!

Yep! You bet.

Second that!

I had my quarterly email exchange with Amory a couple weeks ago. Still no ETA.

I want a set for next spring, but they never seem to have them in stock. Can you update the list once they go live?

There are many pre-orders I don't think it will be a secret

Rather than buy new rockers - I chose to cut mine. @grinchy has a great thread that I followed. An oscillating mult-tool with a semi-circle blade literally cut the plastic like butter.

One thing that's nice - once I removed the tread plate I could set the old board on top of the sliders to get a sense of where I wanted to make my cuts:

Thank you for your notes and tips. This thread and grinchy's were very helpful. I just installed my sliders yesterday and it went well. The instructions were much improved and clear. The only tips I would add are to install the led light brackets last, they get in the way. Also, run taps through the welded bolts on the step to clean up power coat overspray as your first step, it's much harder to do once they are mounted.
