I installed Slee Offroad LX570 sliders, here's how it went

Yeah there are no limitations in my opinion because there is no reason to modify the suspension when you have AHC (other than the sensor lift).

Following up on one loose end.

The running boards are held on by 2 torx screws in front, 2 in back, a bunch of clips, and a square of body tape in the back. Cutting the running boards took out one of the rear screws, and you pop the tape when you take the rocker off.

Losing that screw and popping the body tape takes away a ton of the ridgidity of the rocker. I was constantly tapping it with my foot getting in and the whole rocker would move.

To fix this - I picked up a roll of Gorrilla Tape and applied a square in the original location, plus a thin strip in the middle and one in front:

I cleaned off the old tape with a razor, then wiped the surface down with some paint prep spray. The Gorilla Tape is semi-permanent and made a huge difference. The panel doesn’t move at all anymore.

Well, I got a chance to test out the sliders this weekend. I went back to Hidden Falls in central Texas. There are several really rocky, hilly trails. I had one really hard hit to this slider when I was going up fairly steep trail in the rain and slid sideways on to a large rock. Seemed like a really hard impact. Upon inspection, found no damage to slider other than a scuff on the powder coat. On a side note, the AHC started acting funny right after. The rear of the car went really high in the air and rode terribly. Once I cycled the height, everything went back to normal. Anyone have any ideas on what may have happened?

It’s normal for truck to cycle to high in rough terrain. However rear only doesn’t sound normal. Mine has been a little squirrelly when I’m loaded down and terrain is really unlevel but never fails to return to normal.

Posting for posterity so future 570 owners can see just how much clearance is gained by ditching the steps for sliders. Truck is in high:

Just wanted to share that I go thru this thread once a week to stare at photos and become more impatient waiting for my number to be called. Need these so I can hit some real trails. Come on Slee :)

I just got on the list so I doubt I'll even be on this second batch, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Good luck! Took a few months for me.

Good things come to those who wait.
And with that... I gotta go to the Ketchup commercial again...
...10 or 15 seconds in, it’ll make sense—:)

Love the way that these turned out. I am not sure if it was mentioned by how much are the 570 sliders running these days? I was on the fence regard LC vs 570 and I think those sliders settle the question.

While I feel the LC badge carries more prestige, the premium they carry on the used market, plus the cost to do suspension work, plus the potential issue of having one side sit a little lower begin to weigh heavily against the LC.

One can find an excellent 570 add sliders, tires, and possibly knock out some known Maintenance issues such as the radiator or starter for less than you can get into a seasoned LC.

All things being equil I would prefer the LC, but considering my use the LX makes so much more sense

My sentiments exactly, at least that's what I tell myself now that we have a 570 in the garage lol.

This topic gets regularly discussed to death here-but for my needs, the 570 is totally uncompromised. It doesn’t fetch the same premium as the TLC but feels so much more premium. The AHC boogie man is just that, a boogie man.

If I needed a more purpose built , heavily armored truck, a TLC would have been a better choice.
