I have an FJ40 1974 Petrol. There seems to be oil leaking from the metal plate under the distributor , the distributor is a new electronic up grade .

I have an FJ40 1974 , Petrol . I have an oil leak seems to be coming from under the distributor ( silver plate at the bottom) Has anyone come across this ? It’s a new electronic distributor not the original one.

There should be some sort of oring or gasket there. Did you transfer the o ring from your old distributor?
Did you seat the distributor far enough to spin the drives shaft to your oil pump.
What's the oil pressure?
You're probably just missing a standard o ring.
