It has to go. Im not going to fix it.

It failed smog cause I removed the EGR Modulator and plugged the vacuum line leading from the VSV to the EGR. That Modulator is a $15 part on ebay, but im not sure if the VSV needs to be replaced and it will probably be winter before I have time to get any work done on it.

The Bad:
-Passenger side window doesn't roll up or down.
-Wont pass smog until the modulator is replaced & VSV tested.
-Check Engine Light comes on - but only if you maintain 60mph for 5+ miles... otherwise it never comes on.
-Drivers side door and fender have a dent. Paint is faded, clear coat is peeling. Front bumper is dented and missing the passenger plastic piece. But, i have a complete replacement bumper and both end pieces to go with it.
-Stereo is missing its face plate.
-The Hood supports are bad.
-Sometimes when you turn the key, you get a "click". Try again and it starts right up.

The Good:
-Brand Spanking new Slotted and Drilled front rotors with ceramic pads.
-ABS delete
-Cloth Interior, in great condition. Including both 3rd row seats.
-33" BFG Mud Terrains in nearly perfect condition. Has to have less than a thousand miles on them.
-1.5" Body Lift.
-Starts right up and runs great! Everything (but the passenger window) works. Cold AC, Center Diff Lock, Sunroof.
-Its a FJ80!

The Details:
-1994 FJ80
-No Lockers
-165ish thousan miles

Anyhow, to make a long story short... my wife works to pay the bills while I stay home and raise the boys. 4 weeks ago my wife pulled a muscle in her back, and has not been able to work much since. Rent will be due in a couple weeks. I have to do what I can to get rent paid and keep food on the table. Who knows how long her backs going to be all fuctup.

I need $2500 for it. I can't haggle on the price, thats really my bottom dollar. And please no trades unless its for A LOT of Size 4 & Size 5 diapers, Vit D milk or a motorhome that can sleep 5.

If you have a friend or a relative you want to take wheeling, but they need a rig. This is a PERFECT start for them.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck man.

What code pops up when you get the cel at 60mph? It should store a code.

What he said ^

find a new buyer yet?
are you still going to MOD for the GCC clubhouse after you sell it?

If he doesn't, i still have mod access. Now that the work move if finally over, i have been spending more time on Mud. I'm freaking beat though. Cant wait for some R&R.

Wish i had 2500, i'd buy it in a heartbeat. Would love to have a newer beasty.

I havent found a new owner just yet. I put it on the actual IH8Mud classified section and got a couple interested parties. I put it on craigslist and got a couple interested parties.

But I know how this game is played. I wont be holding my breath. And I wont be giving it away. If I dont get the $2500 i will just let it sit until I can get around to fixing it.

If I get rid of the FJ80 you probably wont see very much of me at all around here. Maybe in a few years when my kids are old enough to help in the shop, and I have more disposable income to invest in a wheeler.

PM me your contact info. I may have a buyer for you.

Thank you,
Gino

you end up selling her, or did you fix the smog problem and decide to keep her?

Still have it. Gino's friend is really interested, but so far anyone who's contacted me on craigslist has just flaked.

I have the smog part. I have 90 days from the initial smog test to get a free re-smog. So im probably going to put the part on, take it for a re-test and hope for the best.

Even if she does pass, i think im still going to end up selling it. Just for more.

Well... sad day. The LC left for its new home yesterday.

Good news. The buyer came from Reno. He has a '96 FJ80 with lockers and a blown motor. He has been on the hunt for a good FJ80 with cloth seats to transfer the locked axles into. His plans include a 3 link front, 37+ tires, and he has a 6" full OME kit waiting to go in it. Im stoked the truck will finally see the wheeling it deserves, and saddend I couldnt afford to make it happen.

Im gonna go back to mini-trucks. See you on the trails!

Sorry to hear man. Hopefully you'll be back in one soon.
At least it went to a good home.

Bummer, but ditto on the new good home! I would be happy for my LC....
