-- not quite sure why, but it was painless and we all go through a ton of fluids --

Will figure some way to post the stuff online -- anything is better than their site --or their customer service --

hahaha.........no s***. good luck.

I just sat through listening to a BMW rep talk his way out of replacing a $17,000 M3 engine that was "overly" modified.

If you really think it's Amsoil's fault, you'd better have more than 100% proof before you even try to go after them. They're a pretty solid and reputable company. I, for one and with dealer ties, have had no troubles with them what so ever.

Just don't let the dogs get into it Eric~!

ya'll need to talk to the federal governent like US DOT they useed amsoil in there fleet vehicles and most of them had to have there engine replaced. I had ford 7.3 Powerstoke and it only had 30,000 on my engine and I took it to a Diesel pro-shop and they said that they have had many come in with that problem. Even my Amsoil dealer said that he has had his engine freeze up

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...................

I'm at almost a 100k on my modded stroke. I wail on this thing and have since day 1. Always run Amsoil Diesel rated oil as well as other fluids, along with the bypass filter system. Didn't do a complete drain until 50k, and again just a week or so ago.

I won't dispute "your" claim but I have monitored the diesel forums for the last several years and have heard nothing like your statement, ever. Frankly I have never heard of Amsoil products being the reason for failure although Ford rarely takes responsibility, always looking for a scapegoat.

Proving fault will be easy if you have documentation of the product used, oil change frequency, and of course lab samples of the fluids from each drain. But if ya had all that, you wouldn't have a failure, or at least it wouldn't come as a surprise.

I'd like to hear what the problem was that required a replacement.

Repeating what was posted earlier, Amsoil is a very reputable company and product line. Many don't like the MLM program and assume it to be snake oil as a result, take a good look at the entire product line, the houshold items, and Hastings filters and then make your decision.

Good Luck Eric!

amsoil...

All powerstrokes should be "broken" in first, before throwing in any synthetics.... like 30-50K... this is what all the diesel guys in my area agree on... it's not an amsoil specific problem... I run amsoil in my BMW 325is w/ 293k on it, have been for the last 8 years or so... I autocross the car a lot & was my only driver (did until recently)... I worked that car in all enviornments... motor always solid (unitl I boke a rocker arm this summer @ 293.4K)... but that had nothing to do with oil... I will never use anything but amsoil... the proof is out there in their's & indy research & in my rides...

Eric, was looking at replacing the diff. fluids on my 80, what do you recommend?

So fess up then, is Amsoil API approved or not? I want the stright dope :D
