AHC = Automatic Horn Control :)

In my old Cherokee I had an amplified PA horn that had a 3.5 mm input. I ran that to my phone where I had an MP3 of Dixie. It was great fun to blast that horn, but cumbersome - making sure the horn was on, having the phone awake, having the jack plugged in, being in the music app, and actually playing the mp3. So, with the LC, I really wanted a streamlined solution.

The key was finding a simple way of quickly playing an mp3. I thought maybe a cheap little mp3 player, or perhaps a raspberry pi. Fortunately, we stumbled upon this board that was perfect for what we wanted to do.

It allows for the loading and playing of 4 different mp3s via 4 buttons. We mounted the horn in front of the airbox and wired up the horn and board. The power switch turns on both the board and the horn. The board has about a half second boot up time and then I just have to hit a button to play: Dixie, Reveille, Taps, or To Arms
