Hi All,

I'm new to this forum so i apologise if this topic has been covered, i had a search but couldn't find anything definitive.
Is it possible to replace the rear idler shaft o-ring without opening the transfer case?
I have heard it's possible to just pull the shaft out a bit to expose the o-ring and then replace, but would hate to drop a gear or bearing off the shaft in doing so.
Your comments would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for the replies,
I gave it a go this afternoon and it all went to plan. Hopefully this stops the leak but I'm thinking it's more that the transfer is overfilling from the gearbox fluid getting across and then leaking out of anywhere it can.
I have the two fill points attached with the hose line to help with the oil going the other direction. I'm wondering if I block this hose will the oil be less inclined to drain into the transfer case... any thoughts?
