Engine Tem

If I want to check if my water temp gage is ready correct on my dash can I double check somehow? I have a direct temp laser could I shoot the engine block with that?

What temp would you expect I should read after running engine

Your thermostat housing should read within about 10 degrees F of the thermostat rating. The stock thermostat is 190 degrees, if I remember correctly.

The sensor for the temp gauge is towards the back of the block on the driver's side, on a 2F engine. It is usually going to read higher than the thermostat temperature because of heat soak from the head.

The gauge doesn't have numbers on it, so exactly what are you checking?
