I see some European lc reviews showing the headlight leds running as drls. Is it easy to have the dealership set this up? I can't stand the use of dimmed halogen high beams so turned that option off via console. Many thanks.

i have turned my DRL's off through the settings menu and then permanently keep the light switch in position "1"; they turn on and off with the car. However if you do need to use them as "parking" lights when the ignition is off or you leave the vehicle, you must turn the switch to off and then back to position "1" after you have turned off the vehicle.

Two problems with this are:

- Taillights are ON all the time

- NAV screen switches to "Night" setting

The 2013 LX570 uses the LED arrays as DRL's, we should be able to figure out how to do it with the LC's.

I don't mind tail lights being on all the time. In fact I welcome it.

And not sure if interior lighting is connected to headlights. Iirc they operate independently. Like right now I have my lights in on mode all the time never switch them off. Interior lighting still operates correctly day or night mode, going thru tunnels etc.give it a go. :)

correct re taillights, i have no issue with that, safer anyway. however incorrect re screen going into night setting; sensor for night setting is not directly linked with light switch position.

Sorry, but that's NOT the way it works on my 2013 LC.

Middle of the day, lights in OFF position, NAV displays in daytime colors.

Turn light switch to position "1" so LED arrays and tail lights turn on - NAV switches to nighttime colors and instrument cluster lighting dims.

Turn light switch back to OFF and NAV reverts to daytime colors and instrument cluster lighting gets brighter.

Night setting for instrument cluster and NAV are definitely linked to the light switch position.

hmmm not on my 2014. even on my 07 gx i had a while back it functioned the same way here in the united states.

right now, i have my light set to ON all the time. when i shut off engine, the lights turn off immediately when i open the driver side door to exit.

my dash/nav functions the same way as it would headlights set on AUTO. i do not think my LEDs turn on at all when i set to "1" like you, though.

i love it.

mine is a US car. what happens when you turn the light switch to position "1"?

[STRIKE]Middle of the day[/STRIKE] When it is dark, lights in OFF position, NAV displays in daytime colors.

Night setting for instrument cluster and NAV are definitely linked to the light switch position [when it is dark].

When I first checked this feature, I did it in my garage :whoops: which was dark enough to trigger the light sensor which switches the NAV display to night setting and dims the instrument cluster lighting.

During daylight hours, when outdoors, the NAV lighting and the instrument cluster lighting stay in their daylight mode, just as LCKID said they do.

Interestingly, with the light switch at position "1" which enables the tail lights and the front LED arrays, the DRL's remain ON unless switched OFF in the NAV settings.

Ideally, I'd like it if set on Auto, the LED DRLs stay on when low-beams are off. When low-beams are on, the DRLs dim to half intensity.

Right now, my fall back is, again, set headlights to ON so the low-beam, LEDs and tailights. I never take it out of this setting atm.

does anyone know how to get the fog lights to work with the light switch in position "1" and/or with high-beams (Main Beam) on?

That would be cool.

I put LED bulbs in the silly looking parking lights on our 2011. I'd love these the be the DRLs.
