Wife was wanting to go to Arizona to see a daughter and then check out Arcosanti in central Az. Picked up a sprinter van to build into camper, and decided to do a test run before the build. Put a bedside commode in the back to eliminate taking her into public restrooms. Get weird looks if I take her into the men’s, or women’s. It’s working out great and she’s enjoying the trip. Just outside of Oklahoma City on the west side. Nice to be on a road trip again.

Probably little late but Clinton, Oklahoma has small Route 66 museum easy to navigate as it’s pretty small but some cool stuff inside. Sits across from old Hotel Elvis use to stay at (it looks like a dump now).

Clinton airport also has very cool Air and Space museum right off 40, very unassuming but has some impressive space exhibits.

Elk city further on down the road has larger Route 66 museum.

Safe travels!!!

Spent countless hours driving back and forth to Steamboat the end of last week. Sitting on outdoor couch last night enjoying the outdoors and I get email from engine builder that my 3B for BJ45 is finally complete after roughly slow two year build.

Of course it’s in Denver….so another trip in 2-3 weeks

That being said I strongly, without any hesitation, recommend Bill and his son at Mountain High Performance in Golden. We have multiple delays due to parts and I wasn’t in hurry at all for it and they have been a joy to work with throughout the process.

I think I had mentioned my bent travel trailer axle, and the excellent customer support from Dexter.

Today was the day, dad came over with a second floor jack and we got them swapped. Need to take the rims in this week and get tires sorted but one step closer to our next trip.

Great news! LMK if you find yourself up around Doug's!

Sounds like y’all had a good trip.

Back home after 3,000 miles in 8 days. Arcosanti didn’t have enough handicap access to actually see anything. Wife’s daughter was a no show. Despite those drawbacks, the trip was great. Interstate 40 is a nightmare of cracks and potholes pretty much from Oklahoma to Flagstaff. Sections in New Mexico were decent though. Came back the scenic route through Navajo Reservation, 4 corners and southern Colorado. Picked up the Santa Fe trail ( highway50 ) in Pueblo, CO and stayed on it to KC. The 5 cylinder Benz is an amazing motor. Got 20 mpg doing 75-80, 27.5 dropping down to 65-70 on the scenic part. My wife is a trooper for doing such a crazy adventure. This pic is “ baby rocks “ on the reservation.

Enjoying myself a nice case of Covid. Amazing how exhaustive it can be. I couldn’t begin to tell you how many cases I’ve been exposed to over last 3 years, but my wife I can’t run from.

She adamantly denied the last few days when she was sick she had Covid. After developing chills, cough and exhausted with body aches yesterday I tested myself last night and was positive.

Wife woke me up this morning to tell me she went ahead and tested since she was at 5 days and was positive. Of course I nicely asked her to reaffirm I was right which she wouldn’t have done if she wasn’t feeling sorry for me.

How bad was the price of the nitrogen this year. I didn't even check because it's been so high.
$700 for the 2500 pounds, nothing cheap anymore. They didn’t have the phosphorus or potassium but my soil was 90% and 60% sufficient so I elected to just put the nitrogen down (which was deficient) on the newly sprigged field. Rain a sure thing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I might actually get some grass to grow.

I guess I could add that my total quote was $2050 for an additional 2750 pounds of potassium, and 1500 pounds phosphorus, then she told me they didn’t have any. The new 25 acres of sprigged Bermuda will appreciate the Nitrogen for now, I’ll do rest in a few weeks.

This is why I passed. It's hard to justify spending big money for my goats anymore. First cutting I bale @ 975 (give or take) small square bales and only use @ 300 of them, we donate the rest to 4H kids. It's either bale it or brush hog it.

The pasture has pretty much forced my hand to do it. An old peanut patch in the 80s it’s nothing but 25-30 acres Of Sandy loam and stickers. I’ve sprayed, drilled Bermuda two years ago but was able to fertilize since we didn’t live here full time.

I sprayed again this year, disced the crap out of it and drug it with tooth harrrow. Paid $135 acre for Bermuda sprigs and the good lord must be looking down upon me. Rain coming early next week and I was able to get that nitrogen down. Maybe next year I can throw some feeder calves on it?

Next week hopefully I’m feeling up for it I’ll spray the hay pastures with 2,4D. Even that has gotten pricy at $67 for 2.5 gallons
