Big thanks to @FJBen for helping a brother out.

Yesterday I headed out to his place towards the end of the day and he took a few pics of Mom's 4Runner.

This one came out great!

Now to build the BaT listing...

I know it will help Mom out.

BaT said they want to do the auction w/o reserve. Anyone have any experience w/ those?
Nothing against BaT but any reason you don't list it locally first? Any auction without reserve is somewhat unpredictable. Of course if you want it gone within the next week or two then BaT is a good option.

I guess I was just thinking of maximum exposure to the marketplace would yield the largest area under the curve of Willingness to Pay fcn.

Yes?

No?

GTFO w/ economic theory?

You’ve probably already done this, but I’d search BaTs recent 4Runner no-reserve auctions to see how they went. Don’t gamble what you can’t afford to lose. If you all aren’t absolutely needing a certain amount out of it, but are negotiable on the price, I’d say list it since it’s such a nice truck and it probably will do really well. If you’re got a rigid bottom price that is fairly close to what you think is reasonable, try something else.

Well since you brought it up..... I'm not sure that BaT gives you the maximum exposure to your market place. By your I mean buyers looking for that car. My impression of BaT is that isn't the audience but what do I know. There's certainly one way to find out though. :D

Do just one thing first. Take it down to the local dealer and see what they will give you for it. It's a very unusual market for used cars at the moment. This is the one and only time in my life that I've actually suggested that to someone.

We live in interesting times.

Personally, I love snakes. I get that most people don't like them, but I will go out of my way to observe them in the wild if I can.

Snakes aren't "aggressive." Some snakes are more active then others, with those little rattlers up in the Dakotas being pretty active. Snakes generally have zero interest in attacking anything they cannot eat or that can kill them and generally act accordingly.

Cottonmouths tend to be more exhibitionists than anything. Herpetologists sometimes call them "drama noodles" because of this.

I had a tiny Dekay's Brown Snake try to kick my *ss a month or so ago. He's completely harmless and about 4 inches long. Finally had to transport him so I wouldn't accidentally step on him.

True. There’s a CarMax nearby…

I think I get you now. My initial reservation about listing is typically the price only goes down from the listing price, but I can always say "No".
A buddy of mine recently sold his 100 series for $18.5. He was surprised he got that price, but when people asked if he would take less, he just said no. So someone said okay.

I have a neighbor that works at a local Toyota dealer, IMHO they are cheap AF. A corporate group recently bought them and the parts dep't went to "demand matrix pricing", which meant I drive about the same distance the other direction to buy parts now. Anyway, I asked the guy if he would get credit for bringing vehicles in. He does, but we weren't able to meet up in person. We did it all over text. His corp-o-rat group in Denver came back at $13.5. He was all like, "don't do it!".

I can always try the other Toyota dealer where they don't rob you for parts.

Anyone have a “commute to work vehicle”? My reduced scheduled has me driving around Tulsa and the vicinity and I’d like to keep from driving up the miles on my 2015 duramax.

After seeing @PabloCruise pics above do 4 runners get reasonable gas mileage? I had a second gen 20 years ago and it wasn’t that great from what I can remember.

Older Tacoma would be doable also.

No offense to those that have a Prius, my dirt roads would probably destroy and I would look like gorilla at a Shriner circus driving it.

Once the pig is complete and troopy up and going with its H55 those too will get some definite driving action.

I have been averaging 20 in Mom's 2UZ 4th Gen:
