Hi All,

I have a m101 that I use as a utility trailer and just got a roof top tent. I want to be able to change over easily to utility mode so will be building a frame similar to Roberto's that I'll attach the tent to.

I like the idea of an easily removable plywood lid. I have the rubber tarp the m101 came with and this is an alternative but it would be good to lock it up. Can people please post examples of their flat lids. In particular I am interested in how its attached to the trailer and any locking mechanisms.

I can fabricate so steel frame stuff is good too.

Grateful for any help.

Cheers,

John

Thanks,

I'm costing out having a fabricator do it in aluminum. I weld steel and I'm set up for that but I'd like to save a little weight. I did an interesting experiment the other day. I weighed a piece of 1 inch square tube with 1/8 wall in both steel and aluminum and a 3.5 foot piece had a 4 pound difference

At least this way I can build it to be removeable and still use my trailer as a utility unit.

Roberto sent me a nice write up on how he build his top. I'm working out something similar.
