Reading Austin's thread about them all getting together and going for a ride is making me yearn for some trails...peddle style. So how about guys? I know a lot of you ride, used to ride or know what a bike is so lets meet for a ride.

I say Gov't canyon park off Galm rd. by helotes. One of the best if not the best local place in SA. Miles and Miles of trails, from easy peasy to hardcore with plenty of places to split your skull on some rock. After we can lite up the BBQ pits and cook up some grub while we part take in an after ride brew. If its not good with yall im up for other places but i gaurantee you will love this place!

So lets stop wrenching on the cruiser and get that bicycle righty tighty and hit the trails...who's with me?

I wouldn't mind a little ride but I don't particularly care for GC. It may be because I am just a novice rider tho and don't like paying to enter the park. I ride McAllister mostly due to it's close proximity to the house and sometimes Schnabel if I feel like travelling.

I'm heading up to Colorado for a week but I'll pm you when I get back. I'll have to haul my old hardtail out of the attic and dust the cobwebs off.

I'm new to the site, I would like to ride my mtn bike, and ride in some cool trails.

check bikemojo.com for some local info. depending on your capabilities McAllister park is a good ride, Government Canyon as mentioned earlier, OP Schnabel Park and there is a trail at Canyon Lake off of FM 306 but I can't think of the name right now.

I've been in McCallister and OP Schnabel, they are ok, but I would like to go to some trail outside the city limits, what about the one in canyon lake? how is it?

If you wanna hit up gov't canyon park pm me. It is definitely worth the $6! Out of the city, miles of trails, different terrains...it sucks to have to pay but $6 for hours of fun aint bad.

The canyon trail is "madrone" IIRC. it's off of 306 at canyon lake

The best place to ride is Flat Rock in Comfort. The trials are on a large private ranch. You can camp out there as well. It is about 45 min out of SA, but well worth the drive. I would be willing to get one last ride in before I role out. It would be best to go early morning or last afternoon. Here is the link:

Flat Rock Ranch - Comfort, Texas

If you do not want to grill, there is a cool place in Comfort to eat and have a beverage.

Waymon

Is this still going on, I vote for a ride in OP Schnaebel.

never happened, guess its too ******* hot

I rode at mac this morning. not too bad... how far do you guys generally ride?

anywhere from an hour to 3 if we take a little break and there's plenty of trail. we are trying to go on the colorado invasion trip and man they have some awesome looking bike trails
