I went to that place before I bought my LX. They had no less that 3 100s and one or two LXs on the lot at the time. They are in the business of flipping desirable cars and they know how in demand Land Cruisers can be. But be prepared to imperfections that you cannot see in the online pictures. I'm not saying they're hiding anything, but it may or may not even be detailed. They sort of just buy them and put them on the lot. Also, if they don't sell them in a acceptable timeframe the sell them to an exporter that sends them to Africa or South America. That could be a flag that their inventory isn't really ready for primetime when It comes to the Texan consumer. One of their cruisers in inventory came from Hawaii so they are buying at auction from who knows where. I may or may not have sat in that cruiser and it seemed like there were kids in the backseat for a lot of those miles. Let me know when you see it if we're talking about the same car. I would say that the cars that I looked at that day were moderately overpriced (like $15.5k when I would have only paid around $13k) and they had their share of quirks (hatch struts, transfer case grinding when going to 4H or 4L, carpet stains). I don't think they are explicitly being dishonest, they are just in the business of flipping land cruisers and they know they can sign people up for credit on them all day long. Just another Houston buy here pay here lot. They also just run a simple carfax if you ask so you need to run the VIN through Autocheck and the manufacturer service website too. I'm really NOT trying to scare you off, just make sure you do your due diligence in the marketplace and find one you really like.
I looked at every 100 and LX in the Houston area in my price range then I expanded my search online to a wider radius. Saw an 05 w/ 132k in Bastrop for (I think) $18,9 and I ended up buying it for (I think) $18,4.
My advice would be to search a wider area like Austin or Dallas, get approved at a credit union if you're not paying cash, and make sure the history is clear. And check that damn transfer case knob for grinding.
