We had a power outage and it took out my spa controller. I think the motor may be gone also.

I want to hot wire the motor but cannot see how the motor is wired color wise without draining and lifting up the spa. I know the motor is 220 VAC and the nameplate indicates it is a 2 speed 240 VAC pump.

It is labeled #1= L1 common, #2 L2 = low speed, toggle to #3=high speed.

The wires coming home are black, red, white and green. Black is low, red is high, neutral and ground. ??
I thought they would be, 120vac, 120 vac, neutral and ground.

How should this be wired?

I know I toggle one hot between black and red for low and high speed, but is the white wire actually my other hot at the motor?

Thanks,
BigJim

The white wire is connected to L1 and the red and black switch back and forth from low to high speed via L2.

A new motor and pump was only $285.
