I might be posting a really obvious issue here, but I always love getting feedback before starting something.

What I got is a minor hood shake at 65mph+ speeds. Not major, but enough to be catch my eye and want to fix it. I have not look at anything yet, but wasn't sure if this was a common issue that had an easy fix that someone could share before I start guessing and checking. Is there an adjustment of some sort? Need new bumpers of some sort, etc?

I searched this forum, but no finds. I may look at other places, but I love this forum so much always start here.

Any thoughts?

Does the hood shake correlate to any other symptoms, like tire/wheel shimmy or driveline vibrations, or does it seem to be isolated to the hood? Seems like if the hood was shaking, it would be a reaction to some other vibration.

If not, then maybe the hinge bolts are loose, or maybe there is a bumper that is missing or worn?

is slight flutter nearer the cowling at the windshield ?

I had issue with that on muh '00 xcab

their was a service dealer listed instruction regarding muh junk..
maybe effects your model as well

the fix has something to do with replacing the plastic cowl with a later year's model. As the later dated part would included a bumper stop inserted into the plastic cowling

I made my own fix... still holding fine

I actually had some hood shaking at highway speed on our 2000 4Runner sport about 5-6 years ago. The hood was hard to open also. After a little investigating the passenger side hood hinge was bound up a little so the hood wasn't closing properly. It was a little higher at the back on the passenger side. I tweaked the hinge a bit so it would operate smoothly and it's been fine ever since. The truck has never been in an accident so I have no idea how the hinge got messed up.
